Two New International Teams Unveiled for Overwatch League 2019

Paris Eternal and Guangzhou Charge. With the Guangzhou Charge representing a home region that encompasses the Guangdong-Hong-Kong Macau Greater Bay Area of China. And Paris, representing snooty France. The land of the baguette.

Jokes aside, Paris Eternal’s line-up is made up entirely of European players – including nationals Benjamin “BenBest” Dieulafait (FR), Damien “HyP” Souville (FR), Nicolas “NiCOgdh” Moret (FR) and Terence “SoOn” Tarlier (FR). With other players hailing from the UK, PL, IS, and RU.

“We are thrilled to reveal the Paris Eternal brand to Overwatch fans in France, throughout Europe, and around the globe,” said Drew McCourt, Owner of newly created DM-Esports.

Sonny Xiao, CEO of the Guangzhou Charge, shows similar regional passion when explaining how the team name was chosen. “We chose Charge because it expresses our vision to lead the esports movement in China, and to be at the forefront of innovation. It also expresses our vision for a competitive team that plays aggressively and boldly.”

Both teams makeup two of the new eight expansion teams joining the Overwatch League for its second season – which is all set to begin on February 15, 2019.
