If you use the grey colour for the background, it still won’t appear transparent (rather as a floating block of grey). So you need true transparency. I don’t think mspaint supports that, so you need photoshop or some more feature rich open source image editor. And in the end, it should be saved as a png, as they (and not jpg) support true transparency.

Below is a link to the image a test as png, and the psd (photoshop file if you wish to edit it further).

Also remember that the image will be made smaller by the website to be equal size to the rest… I’ve uploaded the test I did and should kick in shortly (made need to reload browser for flash to reload).

Automated Thread Creation

When adding a new upcoming match, the website will automatically add the necessary thread (including all match details) too the forums. Sick of having to enter the details and then create a thread on it, which I tend to forget anyway.

If you make an update to the match, it will automatically update the forums to match as well.

It has to add/modify like 7 tables for this… boring crap.

It will also update your post count and any other areas the forums need to maintain the correct stats.

Another update linked closely to this will come soonish.

Oh, and I also added Externals’ tapatalk or whatever for iphone and android users. :p

Extension to previous update…

Along with the website automatically creating a thread when a new match is submitted, the website will now also post into the same thread the results of the match (eg win, loss). It also includes some very basic stats for the match (eg who scored best… most of the basic stats are repeats, apart from the last three).

Enjoy.

PS: While I’ve done some testing to the new code, I haven’t outrighly completed a match (as it’ll start adding posts, multiple database updates etc which would take ages to remove). So if there is any delay in adding the stats to tonights match, it’s because my code just failed.

Actually, I don’t think it’s a problem with the password… it might be the length limit of the sms. :(

I’ve cut off part of the message to fit the password. See how it goes next time.

Major Update to War Report

The War Report now shows the overall stats for the match (and not just the round by round stats).

Per Usual – they are colour coded to show strengths and weaknesses and players are ordered based on impact.

Once statistical addition is the ‘Achievable Ratio’. This magic number demostrates how good you CAN play on that day. For example, we don’t play the same each day. Sometimes (like me), you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and you can’t play for shit. This new stat takes this into account, showing the best you CAN play match day. Your goal is to get as close to this number as possible. It is possible to get a better ratio then the website judges but there are currently no medals for doing this.

Another way of looking at it is… did you choke? Even the player with the best ratio may have choked too much. Or the worse player may not have choked at all, but was raped on the way home by four gorillas. Up to you to judge why you didn’t play up to your possible daily best.

I’ve also changed the numbers around to make them easier to understand. First number is your score/kills for the match, second (in grey) is the average (either personal or team) and the bottom number simply shows the difference.

FOR DARTH MEMBERS… the stats are broken up into three areas. Your match scores versus your Personal History. Your match scores versus Team History. Your match scores versus the Opposition scores. So having a red box does NOT mean you did worse then someone else, but that you may have done worse then your usual average (or worse then previous team averages, or the opposition stats).

The ‘versus Opposition’ is probably the most important in showing where the team succeeded/failed.

THE WAR REPORT can be found under each previous match on the frontpage.

Just an added note… in the rounds by rounds stats, the green boxes with the outer glow means a personal best, and the red ones with the outer glow means klingons on Uranus.
