This thread will be used to submit any and all updates I make to the website. Feel free to reply to anything.

I’ve added/replaced two of the main images of the site to give it a more ‘mooshou’ theme. I am under the impression that renshou is in reference to anything Japanese/Asian/bad food, so both images should reflect both the moo and renshou theme. If I’m incorrect, apart from making such a stupid mistake, I’ve just insulted 89 billion asians who while not living in Australia currently, will be within the next 3 weeks.

First image can be seen on the bottom of the frontpage, and second on the bottom of the forums.

I’ve completed the majority of the members area. I hoped to work straight on the matches module but then realised it needed the members area to be completed first.

Work that still needs to be done is simply adding the ability to show profiles, sigs, email addresses and all that stuff. WIll be done voer the next few days.

mooshou members should now be able to access their profile details from the “Members” button on the frontpage. From there you can currently change your avatar and your quote. More will come shortly.

If you click on your moving avatar, it will open a new page within an iframe which will eventually show the rest of your details, and stats in the far future.

WoS

The members area is fully complete now. There will be other updates in the future, such as the stats, but otherwise it’s good to go.

You can update your profile from the orange “Member” link on the frontpage, or if you’re an admin to the forums, the red “Admin” link.

Please note it may take some time for the avatar and quote to change on the frontpage due to a cron job but the rest updates instantly.

You can add a profile, contact details, and even your mobile number for sms reminders to future wars. Of course, it gives the option if you wish to hide your mobile from member view (there is no public view option so no need to worry it’ll get stolen by bots). I’ve added a few details to my profile to give a general idea how it works. Fill free to change your avatar as well.

I will now turn my attention to the matches module.

Small thumbnails have been added to each game, and the admin area has been updated so more can be added for new games.

Also added a countdown timer for each game. It is based on server time, not your time. So if you live in such places as WA or NZ, it should still show the correct amount of time until the match starts. Once it hits 0, it will switch to a LIVE message.

I’m not sure how BC2 handles final scores for everyone. In CoD, at the end of the match, the total of everyones kills etc were shown. So a screenshot was easy. BC2, in pubs anyway, the score gets reset when switching sides. So having the website ability of recording scores, and the ability for automatic ai writeups becomes difficult. Will look into it but fudge if I’m right.

After much painful programming (I hate forms, and when you see what I’ve done, times that hate by 1000), we can now submit individual scores with each match completion. This includes enemies scores (for future writeups etc). It does take like 5mins to input them, especially when a 4v4 match can have 6 full plays, but the stats I will be able to formulate from all that data will impress.

This update was the one I was dreading the most, so while it’s repercussions will be awhile away, I feel happier :p

I’ve added the ability to choose which clan is playing for which match (in this case, DARTH). So the frontpage games list will show which clan is playing which. Busy day O_o

Most AWESOME and POINTLESS addition to date…

mOoshou is proud to present our pre-match alert system. In an attempt to ensure no one forgets any upcoming match, the mOoshou website can contact you 1hour30minutes before the match commences. One method of contact will BLOW YOU away… or at least mildly impress you.

In a clan first, the mOoshou website will automatically SMS you! A feature implemented simply as a “Want to see if I can do it’, it’s now done.

How to use…

On the frontpage, within each upcoming match box, you will see a red @ symbol, and a SMS symbol (if you’re a member and if you have your mobile number on file). You may click either or both and the website will alert you via your prefered contact method before the match begins. You will now no longer need to worry if you remember any upcoming matches. 1 hour and 30 minutes (approx… allow for minor delays for both contact methods) before the match begins, you will receive an email or sms to your mobile alerting you to the match, including team and time details.

So note that this feature requires you to choose for each and every upcoming game… so you don’t get spammed. If you don’t want to be alerted, ignore it.

ALSO NOTE: You are required to enter you mobile or home phone into your profile details (you can access this details from the top of the frontpage … the orange members link… or for admins, red link). You have the option to hide the mobile from others, or advertise it to other members. It is never shown publically.

Can I use my home phone?

YES! Even tested it and works brilliantly. The SMS will be converted into a woman’s voice… it even pronounces well. After pickup, allow for a few seconds for the voice to kick in. This SMS to voice is supported by Telstra nd Optus. Not sure about others.

Sooo. Yes. Pointless in many ways. But it’s done. How many clans can do this? None. Cause they all suck.

PS: I get a certain amount of SMSs free with my VOIP. So don’t worry about bills.

Probably should have mentioned that it’s free. It won’t cost you a thing to use.

nice work!

one of the guys who used to work with us and is now at google wrote an sms script. He signed up to hundreds of icq accounts and in a script logged into one, sent the sms , logged out and into another so that it rotated through the whole list and used the 10 free per day or something they offered hehe
