I don’t claim to be any expert on sound in any way…

But having recently purchased my second pair, and gone through the wonders of reviews etc, I may be able to help some.

Out of the two you have listed, the Sennheiser has far better reviews. Though both may be harder to acquire then the average head set.

If you were willing to spend up to $140, you will find everyone will scream the Logitech G35. Though they’re a tad fugly.

You also didn’t mention if the headset was for games or just music or both.

My recent pair was the Zalman ZM-RS6F with mic http://www.pccasegear.com/inde…..ts_id=6476

Good reviews, damn cheap and only moved away because one side began to loose sound (bad wire). However, I wouldn’t recommend them even though they’re 5.1 surround. Avoid anything that’s 5.1 for headsets. Did a little research when it was too late.

5.1 use 6 tiny speakers, compared to standard two larger ones. It gives terrible bass, and to be honest, it sounds shit. Get speakers that support 3D sound… the difference is amazing.

I’m now using http://www.pccasegear.com/inde…..s_id=14295

And DAMN, they blow the Zalman’s away.

HOWEVER, saying all that, if you’re using onboard sound… you’re going to be dissapointed no matter what you get. Get a dedicated sound card first. Acquired a Creative X-Fi Xtreme OEM from Umart for $36… and that was my best buy for awhile. A dedicated sound card will improve sound more than upgrading your headphones. Getting both will put a smile on your face.

Hope that helps.

thanks for the info WoS

i could get the sennheiser on ebay easily for like 100 bucks i think.

umm it would be mainly for music, but any music headphones would be perfect for gaming as the sound would be crisp enough.

i didnt even know there was 5.1 surround sound LOL but ill stay away from those.

i would get your ones, but it would kinda look weird if i walked out of the house with those on my head haha

it would be something on the move, so it would be a headset that would be decent alone without a dedicated sound card. so if i had to use it for my ipod or laptop, something like that.

ah! For outside use.

Well…. I have no idea for that :) True, the ones I have aren’t really for transporting around, and the Zalman’s… you’d need a suitcase to go.
