lol.

Nah, it is really really good… my rant has more to do with the people that play, spoiling the mass of joy :)

Actually haven’t had this much fun for a game in ages…

And I doubt Steam will provide it cheaper then the $25 odd you can get it from the key sites.

Steam is draining my resources though. ANother two games bought today O_o

Yup, stand alone copy. You signup with EA, enter your key, and then download from EA (max out my connection). And then you can also avoid the many problems I’m hearing from those who have brought it through steam :)

How big is the download, and once you entered the key to EA can you download it as many times as needed?

It was rather large if I remember correctly. Like 7GB? Though my directory size is 6.5GB. And yes, you can download it as many times as you like.

most developers offer this sort of thing, my brother got diablo 2 this way – back in the day – straight through the blizzard website.

I have put it on my birthday list, so will see how we go.

lol – doesnt that make me sound like a 12 year old.

meh – my moneys is better off spent on cheap steam end of year on sale games for the moment :)

I believe Sonik use his own VPS for his VENT.

Having a personal vent only allows for 8 slots (even cracked versions) and a decent VPS usually isn’t cheap or easy to setup.

The mooshou vent is with hypernia and only costs like $5 for a 20slot. The negative at the moment is that hypernia have been dealing with server issues (though which is said to be fixed now).

yeah i had my own colo brissy but just ran a free 8 slot one on it. With vent it depends what u need it for, if its fps shooters go local servers however if its something like wow you can get away with one on the west coast of usa for heaps cheaper.
